As franchise owners, sales professionals and business executives, we all know the importance of constant learning and education. With that being said, it’s back to school season! Kids are back in school; college campuses are full of students, and the semester is underway. Do you ever wish that you could go back to those days? Practicing your addition, playing on the swing set and learning how to read? Okay, maybe you would not want to go that far back. But do you miss sitting in class soaking up the words of your favorite professor?
Just because you are now in the professional world (and maybe you’ve been there for a while), it doesn’t mean that you can’t find ways to continue your learning! So in the spirit of “back to school,” here is a list of things you can do to continue your learning.
1. Take an online class. You don’t even have to work towards a degree. Just find something you will enjoy (or something relevant to your field of work) and enroll in a class!
2. Get a coaching license. Maybe you didn’t know this, but many sports have different coaching licenses that you can earn online or through week long night classes.
3. Get a technical certificate. Have you always had a secret passion for building homes or wiring your outlets? Take some time and actually become certified! Not only will you learn more, but you will now have the ability to apply this passion professionally, either now or in the future!
4. Help your kids with their homework. Ever seen the TV show “Are you smarter than a 5th grader”? Helping your kids with their homework can open your eyes to new perspectives and help you remember what you learned so long ago.
No matter what you do, just do something! Get the “back to school” spirit and keep on learning!
