Summer is a great time to get out and grow your small business. With the warm weather, long days and bright sun to boost your spirits, there isn’t a better season to get out and let others know why your business is the best in the industry.
Check out these 4 ways that you can grow your business this summer:
Go door-to-door. Whether you’re trying to sell your products or just pass along some information, going door-to-door is an aggressive way to get people talking about your company. While you can literally go door-to-door, the important point here is to get out and talk about your business. If your business is local, start by talking to your neighbors and those close to you. They will be more likely to listen and this will give you time to perfect your pitch.
Set up a booth at fairs, townday celebrations, local events, 5K races, etc. This is a good way to get in front of a lot of people in a short time. Make sure you have a banner that makes it is easy for people to distinguish the name and purpose of your business, especially if you’re cramped next to a bunch of other booths. People don’t usually spend a lot of time at each booth, so use this time to quickly get referrals and focus more on the exposure instead of trying to sell something to everybody that walks by.
Hand out flyers, wristbands, pamphlets, etc. This one goes well with the two ideas above. You need to have information to give to people as you talk to people. But if you’re a real go-getter, you can also take flyers/pamphlets to a busy place like the mall or grocery store entrance and hand one to everybody who goes by. Not everybody will read them, but it’s all about spreading the word.
Put up posters, everywhere. Most places have a community board where anybody can put information about their business. Take advantage of these. Since posters/flyers have a very low cost, putting them up around your city is an inexpensive way to promote your company.
Don’t let these summer months pass you by! Take advantage of the nice weather and get out there! There are tons of people just waiting for you to tell them about your company!
