These days, it seems like everyone is working too hard. And, contrary to popular belief, sometimes it’s the boss who works the hardest of all. But can this fate be avoided if you’re the boss of a franchise?
Get some help
Overwork as a franchise owner is often the direct result of having to do other people’s jobs for them. But a lot of that can be prevented by hiring the right people for the job in the first place. As the owner of a franchise branch, you’ll probably have most, if not all, the say in hiring decisions. Make sure you choose people who are experienced – or if they’re not, that you have the right training programs in place for them.
Flex your (hour) muscles
As owner of your franchise, you have the luxury of not always having to be physically present on the job. Of course, there are certain aspects you’ll want to oversee. But once you do that, trust your managers and assistants to get the job done right in your absence. After all, one of the reasons many people own a franchise is for the flexible hours!
Love what you do
Most people go into a franchise they’re passionate about – and that’s the way it should be. And when you love what you do, it hardly seems like work at all!
