You’ve always wanted to own your own franchise. Now, you’ve done the research, made some important decisions, talked to your franchisor and secured funding. But you’re still feeling anxious about the whole venture. Maybe it’s because certain people – some of them close to you – have expressed doubts about you living your dream. Take a look below for how to deal with these Debbie Doubters.
Decide how to spend your time
When you’re first starting a franchise, there are a lot of tasks to accomplish. If you spend that time focusing on the doubters in your life, or their voices in your head, you’ll never get your franchise off the ground. Resolve to re-commit yourself to what needs to be done for your business. Distraction is a terrific way to make self-doubt disappear.
Focus on THEIR self-doubt
There will always be someone saying you can’t do something, no matter what it is you’re trying to do. Sometimes, it’s because it’s really something THEY want to do and don’t have the courage to. Or they’re just expressing their doubts because it makes them feel more secure in THEIR professional life, although they’re not happy in it. Regardless of the reason, see their comments as a reflection of their self-doubt, not yours.
